HELP us HELP our Communities

How you ask...join our BLOCK Party we say

A BLOCKbuster idea for the community to give back to the Yankeetown-Inglis Woman’s Club

who  for the last 53 years has given so much to the community

We are asking for YOUR help to build our dream of a larger and updated clubhouse

and become a true  COMMUNITY Center

This project will

  • double the size of our main room

  • provide more space for our events

  • provide more space for BINGO and in turn more money for scholarships

  • provide food storage for Kidz Eatz...our weekend meal program

  • allow us to build a community landmark

But most of all, this project will allow the Woman’s Club to better serve the needs of our community by establishing a central “headquarters”

  • to connect all residents to one another.....It Takes A Village

  • to provide for services needed to.....Make It Better

You will be donating “blocks” to lay the foundation of our building expansion

All donations received during our BLOCK Party will be used specifically

for the expansion of the clubhouse.

BLOCKS make great gifts in honor of or in memory of  a loved one

Why Do WE NEED This Expansion

Our clubhouse was built in 1968.  At the time it was adequate to serve the needs of Yankeetown and Inglis.  In the last 53 years the area has changed significantly and the Woman's Club has been involved every step of the way. From the beginning our focus has been on "Making It Better" especially for the students attending Yankeetown School; a K-8 Title I school.

In 1971 we began awarding scholarships to deserving students from the proceeds of Bingo games held weekly.  To date we have awarded over $100,00 in scholarships.

After working closely with Yankeetown School to help provide various necessities for the students, we realized there were a number of the children that didn't have food to eat over the weekend.  We formalized the Kidz Eatz Weekend Meal Program in 2015 and today we are providing 7 meals and snacks to 33 students each weekend.  The generosity of the community and local businesses plus the donation of 800 boxed meals allows us to provide meals for 10 weeks over the summer.

Our biggest problem is STORAGE.  To help more Kidz we need more food; with more food we need more storage. The building addition gives Kidz Eatz the much needed storage they need, in a central location with easy access for volunteers.  PLUS more space for Bingo so more students can benefit from scholarships.

PLEASE HELP us HELP the KIDZ and our communities
